| -4- HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/CEP.3/EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}31.3.41. Item No.22 - RE.1935 Rocker Cover Stud. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} pointed out that rolled thread studs are the modern practice and there is no danger of pulling up at an angle on the last thread. It was agreed to adopt this practice and delete the collar. Item No.23 - RE.1685 Thrust Plunger. It was agreed to amend this detail drawing deleting the pip. Item No.24 - RE.1818/19/20 Bearing Caps. The following detail amendments were agreed :- (a) Delete operation to accommodate locking tab, and substitute aero engine practice. (b) Delete stud location and incorporate parallel holes. (c) Rear Main Bearing cap - Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} emphasised this must be a good casting, LB. is to discuss with HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Item No.25 - RE.1805 Front Support Bracket. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} agreed that the Experimental Department should produce a sample bracket from the existing detail drawing. Item No.26 - RE.1743 Top Cover stud. Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} has agreed to delete the collar. Item No.27 - RE.1744 Top cover cap nut. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} asked that consideration be given to producing from a hot Ph/B. pressing. It was agreed that we should obtain samples, LB. to discuss with HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Item No.28 - RE.1923 Cylinder Head. Suggested amendments are to be decided later. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} remarked that an alternative cylinder head is to be issued for the 10 H.P. Item No.29 - RE.1908 Bracket for Dynamo mounting.
