Mr. Belnap suggests that it might assist Mr. Royce in designing the Seagull if a 20 h.p. chassis were sent to the States for the staff there to try during the cold weather, on the understanding that they should report to Mr. Roycé what alterations or improvements might be made with a view to making the chassis suitable for American conditions.

When could we send such a chassis? Have you reserved 6 chassis for the American Company? If so, when are they likely to be delivered?

You might consult the Experimental Department at Derby as to whether they could not spare a 20 h.p. chassis to send to America now so that it might be tested there during the American winter.
