1127 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}8/MH.{M. Huckerby} 25th. November 1938. Metalastik Ltd., Evington Valley Road, LEICESTER. Your Ref. HWRT/CEG. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of 21st. November, although we are at the present time experimenting with engine mounts, we are not using any of the ones you supplied. We are carrying on with our rubber air dashpot, although, as you know, we are now dealing with John Bull Ltd. As regards the "spring aid" rubber ring, as this is impractical, we are working on rubber buffers in compression only (since variable rate is only obtained in compression) but here again there is no need for a "Metalastik" bond. We understand Mr. Swindall is trying out the rubber dynamo coupling supplied by yourselves, and that it is doing well. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
