Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/MH.{M. Huckerby} 22nd. August, 1939. H.L.Short, Esq., English Electric Co. Ltd., Foster Buildings, 22, High Street, SHEFFIELD. Dear Sir, Further to your visit, we have now considered carefully the requirements which you gave to us yesterday, and in view of the fact that the engine is required to run at only 75% of its rating at the speed in question and deliver 49 BHP, we find that we cannot supply this output on an engine which is at present on production. The Administration have, therefore, decided that they are not prepared to make two special engines for which they have only partial tool equipment to deal with this job. Under the circumstances, we regret we can go no further with this matter. Yours faithfully, | ||
