(5) insist on any change in his policy. We feel however that the Ternstedt type of door stop should be used in conjunction with the ordinary lock. In the case however of a coupe, our experience up-to-date would suggest that the silent travel lock is by far superior to an ordinary lock with door stop whether of the Ternstedt type or not, owing to its ability to hold the door endways as well as up and down. In other words the Ternstedt door stop is only suitable for a fixed head body unless used in conjunction with a silent travel lock which so far does not appear to be necessary. Body Weights. LA{L. A. Archer}'s recent report shows up the extent to which accessories now increase the weight of our cars. Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}pointed out that Sales go to considerable trouble to prevent the addition of undesirable weight in this direction, but that in certain cases this is very difficult to control. It is proposed to tabulate the weight and other particulars of the various accessories on the market with which we are concerned. 25/30 Foot Wells. It is thought that the flat floor space allowed by the new type wells can be regarded as available, but Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} is pursuing enquiries with all leading coachbuilders. It is understood that works and Sales both favour this new arrangement of foot wells. Sound Insulation. Complete agreed detail instructions are still required for inclusion in recommendations to coachbuilders, and it was agreed that details should be supplied of what has been arrived at as current practice, which is working very well. Instruments. The question of our instrument arrangement and lighting was discussed, and the design scheme for uniting all instrument and facia controls in one patch with alternative lighting | ||
