PHANTOM. REAR SPARE WHEEL CARRIER AND LUGGAGE GRID.

Referring to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M.11.8.27. the position in regard to the new type of spare wheel carrier is that we are awaiting standardization, but if and when it is standardized, I have obtained agreement from Sales to supplying as standard on all chassis, the two side member frame extension pressings and the cross tube, with any necessary parts fixed on same which may form a part of the general scheme, and which could not be fitted after the parts had been fitted to a car.

You will note, therefore, that we do not propose to give away either the luggage grid or the spare wheel carrier. We are giving away the two side frame extension pressings and the cross connection. This is being done in order to enable us to fit up at any time a good luggage grid or a combined spare wheel carrier and luggage grid, just as the customer may require. It is certain he will want one or the other.

With reference to the broken pieces of the arrangement shown on N.Scheme 2419, the Experimental Dept. are dealing with these, and will no doubt send them along.
