Mr.Finch. ---------- I am sorry that the investigation into the Owner's complaint of poor oil consumption has led to delay in the delivery of his car. The trouble which at first was not thought serious proved to be a very difficult problem. In view that Kingsbury were given to understand that he was not in a hurry for the car, it gave us an opportunity which is very rare, to thoroughly go into the cause of the poor oil consumption. This apart from being valuable to the Kingsbury Depot(for future similar complaints) has enabled me to give the Expt.Dept. and the Design Dept. information which is of value. The Depots are our main source of obtaining real evidence of faults and when a chance arises as I presumed was so in this case, full use was made of it. I can assure you that I do not interfere in a general rule in the routine work of the Depots and I apologise if I have been the cause of annoying the owner of this car.
