28 Slot Armature in Standard (NB) Machine.
The first tests on the 28 slot armature in conjunction with the carcase of a standard (NB) machine, have now been completed.
Three armatures, made originally to the drawings D71347 and D71348, were used, and the particulars of which are as follows:-
1. Armature with commutator connections retarded one segment from the position given in the drawing, giving an average B angle of 13° retard, in the standard carcase.
2. Armature exactly to the drawings giving an average B angle of about 7° retard in the standard carcase.
3. Armature with the commutator retarded 2.5° from the position given in the drawings giving an average B angle of about 9°.
