to make certain that the spring contacts were long enough to prevent any possibility of the rotor getting beneath them and thereby jamming. Mr. Taylor also informed me that a scheme embodying a die-cast cover in one piece is in progress: the existing cover consists of two steel pressings clipped together.

While at Messrs. Lucas one of the under bonnet horns fitted on 32-EX was found to be faulty: the adjustment of the points allowing too much current to flow, thereby causing the iron plunger to strike the diaphragm. This was demonstrated to Mr. Harris of Messrs. Lucas who removed the horn and had a slight adjustment made which apparently cured the trouble.

COILS.

I brought back two coils which Messrs. Lucas have made up to our specification. Their Mr. Whitehouse and I discussed one or two details regarding the performance of same.
