Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of 26th instant addressed to our Head Office, and in compliance with your request, we beg to inform you that in respect of Battery for Chassis 47G5 N.B.Butlin, reported under our Repair No.175. We do not consider its condition throws any responsibility upon us, as our examination only leads us to presume that the Battery has at some time been roughly handled. Had there been any fault in the manufacture of the cells, it would have come to light almost at once, whereas the battery has been in use a considerable time. We do not consider our price for fitting three new cells at all unreasonable, and we shall be pleased to have your instructions in due course.

In respect of Battery returned under your advice note No. Wg{Mr Gill - Financial Director}/f 5323 and dealt with under our repair No.176, you have not favoured us with the chassis No. or any other particulars which would enable us to trace having previously reconditioned it. If you will be good enough to furnish us with these particulars, we will immediately reconsider our estimate.

Awaiting the favour of your instructions, We are, Yours faithfully,

(Sgd) H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} S. Chalk,

Manager.

Your letter Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}17/NJ26326 now to hand, and in view of your remarks and that the Battery was recently overhauled by us, we have pleasure in putting this Battery, under our No.176, in order free of charge.
