TELEPHONE RAINHAM 34. (ESSEX) TELEGRAMS LONDON OFFICE: 50, GROSVENOR GARDENS, S.W.1. Manufacturers of Accumulators for over 50 years. PETO & RADFORD Proprietors - Pritchett & Gold and E.P.S. Company Ltd WORKS DAGENHAM DOCK, ESSEX. YOUR REF Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst/15/R.{Sir Henry Royce} OUR REF CGFP/MH.{M. Huckerby} x6021. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} West, Esq., Rolls Royce Limited, DERBY. 13th November 1936. Dear Mr. West, Replying to your letter of the 10th instant, we have never carried out performance tests exactly similar to those which you did on our battery, so we cannot tell you exactly what we expect our 6-HZD13-S to give in the way of cycles. We see no reason why, if the Exide battery should have given 150 cycles, our battery should not give a proportionately increased figure over that which you obtained. As explained in our previous letter, we would not expect to get a life as good as the Exide battery on this particular kind of test, but it would certainly be more than 71 cycles if the Exide will give 150 cycles. We will, if you like, carry out a test on similar lines on one of our 6-HZD13-S batteries, if you are satisfied that it is the type of test which you consider will give you an indication of the relative merits of the two types of batteries. As explained previously, we, ourselves, do not think that it is quite the right type of test for your purpose. With reference to your last paragraph concerning our reply to your letter of the 24th October, we replied to you on the 29th October under the reference ESC/MH{M. Huckerby}, but as you cannot trace having received our letter we are sending you a copy herewith. Yours sincerely, C.M.Bartlett | ||
