OC/1102 Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, Derby. Dear Sirs :- We are in receipt of your favour of the 9th inst., respecting the two 36 /m/m Claudel Hobson carburettors. The lever operating the bye-pass was originally fitted with a view to opening up the bye-pass to its fullest extent when starting the engine. We found however, that it was not necessary, and therefore it is never made use of and is being discarded in the latter models. Assuring you of our best attention.
