| Mr. G.W. Hancock, Hotel de France, Chateauroux(French test region), Indre, FRANCE. To Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /GWH. {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} from Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 11/KT. 2.6.33. PETROL CONSUMPTION ON 18.G.IV. Generally speaking we do not seem to be getting as good a petrol consumption on 18.G.IV. as we did on the last 10,000 miles test on this car. We should like you to make careful comparisons with the old type standard carburetter and the new carburetter with the air silencer. Besides taking consumptions over the ordinary sort of run at the higher speeds, we should also like you to take consumptions at 30, 40 and 50 m.p.h constant speeds. As far as we recollect you took a standard carburetter out with you. We believe you ran your last 10,000 miles test with 19" wheels which would make a difference, but we cannot find any record of wheel size in our file.
