-5- (24) All testers running endurance should ensure that when the engine is stripped, photographs of the parts which are being tested should be obtained. This was recently not done in the case of B-1 and B-14. (25) Smith will obtain a complete scheme drawing from Borg & Becks showing the set up as fitted to 21-G-IV. He will also keep in touch with Barker re the failure of the pressure plate on B-14. (26) Martindale will use 3-B-IV to test out his brake drums. (27) Hancock will have the pressure plate off B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} magnetically tested. (28) Steadman will report on the thermostatically operated bonnet shutters. 20/25 HP. (1) 18-G-IV should be converted to the hand controlled spring loaded choke scheme which we are proposing to standardise, and cold starts carried out by Ratcliffe whenever possible. (2) Salt will carry on with the masked inlet valve test with a view to improving the slow running on the big bore 20/25. (3) Dodd and Wayman should try the raised mounting on 20-G-IV, and alter it to standard mounting, reporting whether the modification affects the slow running. (4) Matthews will report on the semi-split Lockat pistons which have been fitted to C-14:LKM (5) Dodd will take up with the shop the question of getting geared starter motors for all our 20/25 cars. In particular we should have one on 18-G-IV. | ||
