R.R. 936A (50 T)(S H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 936. 19-2-21) G 3003 X3922 WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG11.4.21. CAR FOR Sa. for next Season at Monte Carlo. We suggest that it would be a very great mistake to let Mr. Salamanca have a car which we were not prepared to deliver to customers. If it is a fact that the Sales Dept. could sell more cars if the cars were faster, then we ought to do what we could to help them. We know from past experience that if we provided Mr. Salamanca with a special car and he demonstrates that it is faster than the standard R.R. all R.R. Owners would demand to know why their cars did not give the same results. We consider, that there is no doubt that the works could tackle the production of a special car but as it is going to entail new design work, we doubt whether Mr. Royce could give the necessary attention without interfering with designs for new cars. If the Sales Dept. wish to go along with this work we should like to know, "who pays"? Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
