(384) RG.{Mr Rowledge} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. R2/M10.12.27. BRISTOL-JUPITER CLAUDEL CARB: X.3841 X.4045 The back cover of the Dec.1 issue of 'Flight' shews the Jupiter carburetter of a type you condemn. We suggest you obtain at once one of these for test. On the face of it this carb. would appear to freeze, and hesitate, but otherwise it seems to have a number of advantages. It would not flood owing to the emulsion holes being so much above the petrol level, provision for slow running, altitude control, and the relative position of the float to the jet all appear to be good, and also the carburetter looks as if it would not be much affected by catapulting.
