To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} -2- E5/G26/7/19 Contd. for instructing this portion of the axle. All design work on the 20 H.P. rear axle has now been completed with the exception of the details of the driving shaft and the torque tube, which are being attended to in Derby by yourself. * We have not gone deeply into this matter of the torque tube but it appears to us that the most suitable E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} shape for the general work this piece has to perform is as indicated. It is possible that you have made an assessment based on assumed conditions of the loads that the torque tube has to carry from which the thickness of the walls can be finally determined. | ||
