F.R. Banks, Esq.,
Ethyl Export Corporation,
Abford House,
Victoria,
London, S.W.1.

Dear Banks,

We have run into trouble on one of our cars with Ethyl spirit.

The facts are that we had some Ethyl petrol which had been lying in a tank for probably about 12 months. This petrol was poured into another car and almost immediately afterwards all the inlet valves of this car stuck up, and the carburetter was found to be full of the colouring matter of the petrol which seemed to have assumed a gummy form.

We have retained the pieces so that you can examine them. This strikes us as being rather a serious matter, and we shall be glad if you would give it your consideration in the immediate future.

Yours sincerely,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
