Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} 6. B. IV. ALUMINISED FRONT EXPANSION BOX. The downtake pipe has broken away from the expansion box at the weld. This was followed by the breakage of the outlet pipe at the back end of the expansion box. The box was probably strained earlier in the running when the rear and main silencer clips broke, allowing the system to drop on the road. This was not reported as it was attributed to the clips having been strained in the last accident. Do you want the broken expansion box returned to you at once, or may we bring it back with the car on the completion of the mileage? We enclose sketch. The box has run 7,432 miles. ------------------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/IMW.{Ivan M.
