Dear Sir,
X.4050 FOR THE ATTENTION OF COLONEL MATTHEW.
Further to our letter of the 3rd. inst, Mr. Hives and the writer have now returned from visiting our Chief Engineer, and would very much like to meet yourself and Mr. Bond as soon as possible at our works.
Will you kindly let us know which day will be convenient for you, as we will then endeavour to make the date in question suitable to ourselves.
We would like to know whether anything more has transpired in regard to your producing wheels suitable for straight-sided tyres, with loose fainges. Our present knowledge extends as far as a general idea that you will probably bee producing wheels in September or October of this year. The point we wish to raise is, can we feel that this date is more definite than would appear to be from your last visit.
Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED.
CHIEF TECHNICAL PRODUCTION ENGINEER.
