ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

Starter Motor DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 1098

Has been satisfactory under all conditions.

Starter Motor Drive LOP DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 1070

Completely satisfactory.

Dynamo. LOP DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 1147 LEC 4686-4708

Gave no trouble & maintained charge throughout.

Stop Lamp Switch. LOP DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 419

Failed to operate after 10,000 miles due to short in "Bakelite" insulation in the operating plunger. Replaced by new one, and no further trouble experienced.

Distributor. LOP D.54392 Ignition Conts. LOP D.72503

Engine misfires at low speeds under load due to spark jump in distributor, owing to the close proximity of the rotor to the metal part of the housing. This has been overcome on the 25/30 H.P. car, using a modified type of rotor.

Battery & Fittings. LOP D.100423.

Dirt & water are apt to lie about the battery top, resulting in terminal corrosion and short circuiting. A lid{A. J. Lidsey} should be fitted to prevent this, and the possibility of bits falling across the terminals causing a dead short.

Lamps & Fittings. LOP DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}735.

"NOTEK" foglamp is not an adequate instrument in fog. The light given seems dim and does not readily pick out the side of the road, like a concentrated beam.

Headlamps Pillars. DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}727.

Entirely satisfactory.

Headlamps. P. 100 R.{Sir Henry Royce}

The reflectors became detached due to the fixing screws becoming stripped, otherwise satisfactory.

Wind Tone Horns. LOP DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}1109 LEC 4701

It has been suspected that wet and foggy weather contribute to the temporary failure of these horns on the road, and tests have been carried out to find if the application of moisture could produce a failure.
The horns in question were removed and fitted up
