To Ds. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} filing XS600 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/MJ.19.8.29. 20 HP SPARE WHEEL CARRIER. This was not satisfactory during the 10,000 miles test. It was greatly improved by experimental modifications reported on in our Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/anL/LG.19.6.29., Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/21.6.29., and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/24.6.29. We have, however, received no design on the lines of these modifications. The spare wheel carriers are now in production in their unsatisfactory condition. The previous single arm type is equally bad because they actually break in service, this is why we have not perpetuated them. Will you please modify the existing double arm design on the information we have given you, or if you require any further information, let us know.
