| Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} S/W. Vr{E. S. Voller - Orders}5/MG.24.11.34. RECEIVED 3 1/2 Litre chassis No. B.27-CW. - Mr. Johnson. With reference to your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml2/KW.30.10.34, we have now received from Rootes the erection instructions in respect of the chassis for the above customer. In acknowledging receipt of these instructions we have intimated we are unable to definitely accept instructions for the Smith Hydraulic Jacks for which the customer has asked, but that the matter is one which is receiving consideration. We feel we cannot fit this type of Jack to a chassis until it has been finally approved, as apart from the weight there is, of course, the reduced road clearance and the possible difficulty of actual installation to which presumably you are giving your attention. Whilst we are passing you the erection instructions for the chassis and are mentioning thereon that Hydraulic Jacks may eventually be required, we do not propose to pass you our official order for these until this type of jacking has received official sanction. Vr.{E. S. Voller - Orders} Chassis already built, on test. | ||
