Re Instrument Board Fittings
Fuel Gauge

Dear Sir:

We have sent an order for an improved King-Seeley fuel gauge, as you suggested.

Will you ask By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} to send us print or sketches of the method of installing on the gas-tank, so that we may prepare the necessary fittings.

Have you tested the "Nivex" gauge made by Weymann of Paris and standard on Hispano, Issotta, Minerva and others?

We have fitted a number of these over here and ran one 17,000 miles without trouble.

The only objection is that it does not give continuous reading and requires the operation of a little hand pump before it indicates. Also the gauge fitting is an aneroid barometer and should be delicate, although actually it is so beautifully made that it gives no trouble. We can buy them here (equipment prices) at $8 to $9 each.

A sketch is attached showing method of operation.

The Nivex is used in the U.S. for measuring the quantity of liquid in tanks of chemical works etc.

Yours very truly,

Maurice Olley
