EAC.14. - FRONT AXLE CONTROL DAMPER.
----------

With reference to DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M9.12.27. the first two sets of front road springs have been delivered for the above chassis, but we will arrange for the spring clip to be moved on to the next plate in order to give more clearance between the clip and the front axle control damper on any future supplies.

In regard to the question of the levers on the front axle fouling the front cross member, if the rubber buffer compresses the amount which we have allowed for on Sch. 990, then we shall require a greater thickness of packing than you have specified, but since there is some doubt as to the amount by which the rubber buffers are compressed it is proposed that we should not insert any more packing under the springs at the present moment, and the Experimental Department have promised to specially observe this point when the chassis is being tested in France. If it is found that the levers do actually hit the front cross member then packing pieces can be inserted of the thickness which is found necessary, or arrange for the road springs to have a reduced negative camber.
