EDWARDS VACUUM TAPS

The success of a vacuum system is dependent on the stop-cocks used being quite free from leakage. We designed, therefore, a special series of high quality oil-sealed hard-gunmetal taps, suitable for pressures as low as 1/1000th of a millimetre. These are made in a number of forms as described and illustrated. Extreme care is taken to ensure the accurate fitting of the components and this, together with the presence of the viscous sealing compound in the upper portion of the tap, prevents any leakage of air into the vacuum system.

The corrugated nozzles of the taps are screwed internally to receive non-corrodible filters which prevent the entrance of solids and they may also be fitted with inaccessible throttles to prevent one user interfering with the vacuum of other users on the same pipe line.
