X7741 ----------- Referring to E3/M24.11.28. we are strongly of the opinion at Derby that two accessory distribution boards are necessary viz:- a/- One for the rear body lighting, which is generally on the right hand side looking forward, about half way along the frame. b/- A second one to deal with gadgets etc. in the front seat. This we consider should be on the dashboard. We notice that you are only providing one, and that it will be fitted on the dashboard, and further that you are suggesting a separate earthing stud. This does not seem to us to be a neat or workmanlike way of carrying out the wiring. We think in any case the earthing stud should form a part of the distribution board, as the flex is always twin, and it is much neater to carry all the wires into the box, taking one wire to the common earthing stud and the other to its special connection, rather than earthing the wires outside of the box. We feel certain that Sales will press for two distribution boxes, as our suggestion on these lines was put forward because Sales had consistently pressed us for a further accessory distribution box, in addition to the one in the frame for the rear body lighting. I am raising this matter, so as to get it ventilated in good time. I have only just realised in looking over the wiring diagram that one accessory box was provided for, otherwise I should have raised the question before. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
