In order to ascertain definitely what West witteringHenry Royce's home town required, as R.{Sir Henry Royce} was very keen upon the use of the short wheel-base, with the various improvements which went to make EAC.8, whilst Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} had specified a long chassis on his drawings, I wired West witteringHenry Royce's home town as to precisely what they did want.

They have wired back that the first chassis they required will be a short chassis with "D" type steering.

Certain long chassis will be required, but the first chassis will have to be short.
