-4- Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KW.26.3.36. BIG BORE BENTLEY. B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} has now completed 6,300 miles in England and has returned to the Works to have the jack pads fitted and an investigation of the trouble on the rear axle, before sending it to France. This rear axle is the one which previously completed 12,000 miles in France on the big bore car. The points receiving particular experimental attention on the big bore Bentley are :- Elimination of brake jaggers. Elimination of brake fade. Improvement in idling and slow running. Reduction in engine roughness and obtrusiveness, and improved silence under idling conditions. Improvement in top speed performance. Greater riding comfort. Reduction in weight and cost. Modifications to improve frame stiffness. Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
