56142 c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. BY/RD1/W.27.1.36. 'PHANTOM III'. DYNAMO ARMATURE. Further to our memo BY/RD3/W.21.1.36, we propose to instruct a test on a dynamo having enamelled and paper covered wire on the field winding. This will enable us to increase the armature diameter by .125". This extra diameter together with a reduction in conductor size from .048" 18 S.W.G. to .040" 19 S.W.G. will enable 36 slots to be used, 12 conductors per slot, 19 S.W.G.wire. The width of tooth at its root will then become .0875". This arrangement represents an experimental proposal as we are not in favour for production of a reduction in size of the armature conductors below .048" dia. BY/RD | ||
