| AFRICA HOUSE, KINGSWAY, LONDON, W.C.2. TELEPHONE: HOLBORN 8289. 24th July, 1934. W.A. Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. Robotham: Thank you for your letter of the 16th July, received during my absence from home. The judder which I mentioned is quite clearly, I think, in the servo and not in the brakes themselves. The Service depot have spent a considerable amount of time upon adjustment, and whilst I now notice no trouble in applying the brakes at low speeds, the judder is very bad indeed if one has to brake at anything over 40 m.p.h. The trouble after washing the car is that the brakes have absolutely no stop until they are dry. This can be quite simply dealt with by driving for a few hundred yards with the foot brake on, but I do not know whether this method of cure would be recommended by your Department. Yours faithfully, CWDR/VH | ||
