JELLYING SCUTTLES. X.7500 X.8500 X.9500 We send herewith N.sc.2233 shewing the proposed scheme of stiffening the scuttle armature at the dashboard. The design applies to Phantoms having either standard or subframe mounting and also to EAC.1. A later scheme which is to be sent tomorrow will deal with cars having cast dashes. We realise that it will be almost impossible to fit up an existing body with the pieces exactly as drawn, but all new bodies should be so treated. In the case of the bodies for which we have R's instructions to correct we suggest that you apply the scheme as nearly as the circumstances permit. The cars we are most anxious about are 7-EX, 10-EX 12-EX and EAC.1. This latter we suggest should be fitted before it comes to WW. as proposed for next Tuesday. The design of the stiffeners and fixings are such that any coachbuilder can make them with his present plant, there being no pressings called for. If you would kindly send us two extra blues we will send one to London, and arrange to have 7-EX and 10-EX dealt with by Messrs. Barkers & Co.
