To HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} from EFC. c. By/HEB.{H. Biraben} X3398b EFC1/T8.11.23. X.3398b - P & R BATTERY FOR 40/50 TO GO IN PRESENT STANDARD REAR OF RAME BATTERY BOX. This matter was discussed with Mr. Minchin during my visit, and as there seemed no immediate prospect of R.{Sir Henry Royce} agreeing to any increase in the size of the battery, it was arranged that Mr. Minchin would send to us a dummy battery, externally in appearance exactly like the final article, but containing no cells, so that we should have an actual check on the dimensions and the appearance of the links, which as arranged with him are to be arranged in an unsymmetrical manner in order to get the battery terminals in the same positions in relation to the battery as we have on the present Exide.
