-2- quite easily distinguished by a novice. I am willing to run it still under present conditions, but from past experience I think another 500 miles will be all I can do. I understand you do not know the cause. If you don't, I obviously cannot tell you, but I venture to suggest that when stoning up the camshaft during overhaul, you have gone over the safety point of valve openings on your design of engine. Please don't think me utterly foolish, I may be, but I have had one experience of this on a Fiat. Anyway, whatever it is, what is to be done? It is quite hopeless for me to drive 340 miles out of every 1,000 to have the trouble rectified. I am very sorry this trouble keeps coming on, but you will admit it is not my fault. I'm not angry about it, I'm very sorry, but it would be futile to pretend I'm satisfied. I dislike receiving the same letter every few weeks saying you have cancelled an invoice for about £20. I shall be glad to have your views and to learn what are your intentions. Contrary to 23-PB. I am delighted to say that 60-BW. after over 36,000 is in every way perfect, and it would be impossible to wish for anything more trouble free and delightful. Yours faithfully, (Signed) Stanley Johnson. | ||
