Thank you for your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/LG16.6.28. I note that you are arranging to have Continental type springs fitted to this car, which will be very satisfactory. We cannot, however, agree to Hartfords being fitted in addition to the Hydraulic dampers as this would make it non standard and for the particular purposes for which the car is to be used this is most desirable.

Under these circumstances, perhaps you would see that the loadings of the shock absorbers are what you would consider to be the most suitable for all round work.

Unfortunately, it will probably not be possible to test the chassis at Derby with these Continental type springs before it leaves, as I understand that the springs cannot be obtained by the time the chassis is due to leave and it would be forwarded to London with ordinary springing and change made in London.

However, this need not prevent any special loading of the shock absorbers being made before leaving Derby, if you consider such special loading desirable.
