4-B-IV.

There appears to be a certain amount of misunderstanding about this car. The unit fitted to it when it was smashed up was a 3½ litre converted to a 4¼ by boring out: it was a purely experimental piece of apparatus.

We wanted to transfer this unit to Lappin's new car, so that the standard unit ex the new car could be transferred to 4-B-IV for sale. We made this suggestion in our memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KW.6.3.36 addressed to C. Sales. However, would not agree. This being so, the unit out of 4-B-IV was returned to us and has been used for experimental work, which was all it was fit for. We have no standard unit now for 4-B-IV.
