THE DYNAMO-BATTERY COMBINATION OF A CHASSIS
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

Please find attached copy of some notes
expressing and comparing in a general way the various
possibilities of chassis dynamo-battery combinations.

The idea has been partly to make a written
record of our general knowledge of the subject and possibly
to assist in clearing up in the minds of those practically
engaged on electrical systems misconceptions which may at
present exist, with a further and more valued object of the
avoidance of trouble and damage on actual systems on chassis,
dynamometer and unit testing, where careful connections of
the battery are not always the rule.

It has also been to provide a general summary
of the present position as a basis for further consideration
of possible further improvements to the electrical systems on
our chassis in the direction of providing some form, partial
or complete, of external automatic controller which will
reduce some of the disadvantages to which our present
types of system are now subject.

A further object is to put to R.{Sir Henry Royce} a general
query as to whether we should proceed with general experi-
mental work on various forms of external controller.
