BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X7820 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}2/MJ.25.3.30. BALANCING OF WHEELS. X7810 We have already explained to you the difficulties we are coming up against with the "Fort" tyre and the 20" wheel in service. balance We have handed you a wheel shewing a larger diameter [strikethrough: baunce] washer and an increased number of these washers is really what we require to enable wheels in service with partly worn tyres to be correctly balanced. Three of these balance weights will be sufficient but they cannot be evenly spaced because of the spokes. We cannot, however, see that this is much disadvantage. Will you please let us know what you think would be the best way to deal with the problem. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
