From P & R Co. ------------ -2- Contd. Also they want £60 down for tools to produce the thicker separators. With the price of lead now nearly £40 per ton we cannot really afford any extra costs, but to show our desire to co-operate with you, we will shoulder the additional cost per battery of the separators if you will pay for the tools. It was suggested that you might prefer to pay something extra per battery to meet this and if so, we would suggest a surcharge of 3/- per battery for 400 batteries and then the item will be wiped out. Doubtless you may have other ideas, but this is put forward as a suggestion. We shall be glad to hear from you after you have considered this letter. Yours faithfully, PETO & RADFORD. (sgd) G.R.N.
