X.7800 c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AIL. c. Mailing. (text has been struck through) EFCL/AD. 23rd October, 1929. The Lucas Electrical Co. Ltd., Well St.{Capt. P. R. Strong}, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, P.100 Lamps. Two P.100 head lamps removed from one of our experimental cars are being returned to you for repair, as a result in our opinion, of being a poor mechanical job in the following three respects :- (1) Main hinge of lamp has not a long enough fixed axis to prevent the development of sideway movement. (2) Fastening of reflector (inside the lamp) is mechanically poor and liable to become faulty, as you will see it has done in one case. (3) Final clip arm for front glass is not of such a shape as to be conveniently operated by the fingers. We would like to see improvements in these three respects, which we consider inconsistent with the price of this type of headlamp. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
