August 23rd 1934 Dear Sir, I trust you will not think me too intrusive, but I am beginning to get very hard up, & if you could possibly give me a job of any description I would be more than obliged. Things are so hard in my profession that a friend of mine who is B.Sc. (Hants) & A.M.I.C.E. has been out 4 months & was recently right out of the running for a £200 post.
