-4- A.{Mr Adams} F.{Mr Friese} Sidgreaves Esq., 7-10-41. (6) REPAIR OF BENTLEY. Believe me it is fully appreciated that we may, from time to time, be called upon to repair Park Ward Bodies on Bentley or Rolls-Royce Chassis for the Rolls-Royce Company, and we should not like to think of the work going elsewhere. I assume that the car you had in mind when you wrote the fifth paragraph of your letter is the Bentley used by Mr. Hives, because I did explain either to Mr. Robotham or to Mr. Green that the damage to this car was of so serious a nature that its repair was a very big job, and as it has been impressed upon me that the early return of the car was of paramount importance, it was bound to interfere, to some extent, with other work because of the insignificant number of men available for car work of any description. (7) SENIOR RANGE. Both Mr. Robotham and Mr. Green have been notified on more than one occasion that the drawings of the 4 and 6 light bodies have been completed. It is only fair to say that these consist of modified full size drawings, which were already in existence, but new scale drawings are also available and together should give all the information required. Of course, by modifying existing full size drawings, I was able to save valuable time on the part of our limited Drawing Office staff. (8) BENTLEY V.{VIENNA} BODIES. Unfortunately it is a fact that a certain amount of drawing work remains to be done, due to the fact that we have concentrated on the Myth, but none the less, some progress has been made and it is my intention to finish off this job just as soon as I can. (9) B.V. JIGS & TOOLS. These were discussed at the Derby Meeting of the 4th March last, when reference was made to the fact that R.R. had collected the production jigs from Motor Panels! | ||
