As requested by you this morning, I am setting out below a detailed report shewing the progress made and the state of the above project when work on it was discontinued. 1. Full size layout. - completed for body in the white. fairly complete together with arrangements and small layouts for hardware, trimming etc. 2. Detail drawings. - made in line form with locations (not fully dimensioned as per details for tool manufacture) sufficient information by scaling to complete a prototype body in the white. Prints of all details sent to Park Ward as completed and up to the time the job was discontinued. A further set despatched to Park Ward Dec. 1st. 1943. 3. Hardware. - A considerable percentage of the body hardware has actually been obtained. For the items of trim hardware still outstanding it was decided that the safest policy was to wait for templates from the steel body shell. These items comprise of the following parts. 1. Windscreen. 2. All glasses (doors, quarters and backlight) 3. No-draught ventilators. 4. Rubber gearbox cover. We did obtain a Morris 8 cover which it was thought could be pressed into service for this project. It was originally intended that two bodies should be built and consequently bought out parts (i.e. hardware) were in the process of being obtained to cover two complete cars. At the time the project was temporarily dropped, these orders were incomplete. I am giving below a complete list shewing the material already obtained and the disposition of same.
