SHOCK ABSORBER FAILURE ON LORD MONTAGU'S CAR. +4426 +235

The failure of the rivets on the Hartford shock absorbers is unusual. The usual failure we have is the bushes. We should anticipate that the rivetting had been done badly.

We are testing some improved Hartford shock absorbers which have a rubber joint instead of the wood bushes.

It would appear that shortly we ought to be able to fit our own hydraulic shock absorbers, but at the moment we have no scheme for fitting these shock absorbers to the rear of the car.
