X8710 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. BY/RD. EFC8/T1.10.28. 20,000 TURN IGNITION COIL. Referring to our note EFC2/T19.9.28 in which we asked for you to instruct a 20,000 turn ignition coil, we are now of the opinion from the tests we have made so far with paraffin wax paper insulated secondary coils that it would be the right thing to do to test both items, i.e. (1) Paraffin waxed paper, and (2) 20,000 turn secondary, together, as one arrangement of the ignition coil. Accordingly we should be pleased if you would arrange to instruct the coil in that way, but we would like to increase the number instructed to two in place of one, as originally asked for. We have, for instance, quite definitely proved by high pressure leakage tests that the leakage of the paraffin wax paper is less than that of the standard oil paper at present used. EFC. | ||
