Air Raid Damage to Skid Pan.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}14/ML.8.3.41. Buildings and immovable property, such as the skid pan, cannot be insured against damage by enemy action and the only way in which we can recover anything in respect of the damage is by a claim for compensation under the War Damage to Property Government Compensation Scheme.

Claims under the scheme have to be made within 30 days of the date when the damage occurred, unless there are valid reasons why it is impossible to make the claim within that period, but if you will kindly let us have the following information we will make a claim.

(a) The date when the damage occurred.

(b) The cause of the damage (i.e. Anti Aircraft Shell, High Explosive Bomb, fire due to incendiary bomb. etc.)

(c) A Statement of the nature and extent of the physical damage to the property, and an estimate of the amount at which the damage should be assessed.
