We telephoned today of the failure of the clutch.
This gave out during the latter part of yesterday's run, the Car being 11 miles away. We got a tow back to the Garage. There was no sign of the failure, other than the engine started to race away.

The failure is due to the spring drive lugs on the Clutch spindle, having all broken off. The lugs on the rear plate are damaged and three broken off.

INTERMEDIATE SILENCER.
The venturi form of pipe in the silencer, has broken off at the smallest part of the neck. We have taken it out and rewelded the box up. The neck at the other end of the silencer, has cracked threequarters the way round, also the tab for the stay had cracked.

The front axle which we sent to Paris to be checked up, has been found to have both necks twisted, giving a forward lean of pivot.

We enclose sketches of same.
