EFC. X8710 BY/RD2/DM.{D. Munro}18.12.29. Ignition Coils. With reference to your memo, pointing out that failures occurred on 2 coils you examined. Where the 2nd layer of secondary winding was above the flexible connection from the primary, causing the paper to be unduly stressed, we had on hand 2 further coils which required examination and carefully looked for this point. In one case it did overlap and the failure was near to this overlapping. In the 2nd case, however, the failure was distinctly away from the flexible connector and could not in any way be attributed to the flexible connection, and we send this coil to you to illustrate this point. We agree that what you mention is an important point and have taken steps to see that overlapping does not occur. Will you please return this coil to us. BY/RD. | ||
