The composition of proofed "SAFEGUARD" Lining is as follows:- METALLIC Asbestos - 64% By Weight Wire - 24% " " Proofing - 12% " " NON-METALLIC Asbestos - 85% By Weight Proofing - 15% " " One of the most important uses for "SAFEGUARD" Brake Lining apart from automobile purposes is for Colliery haulage and heavy Engineering work. In this Country where the mine shafts run to a great depth, tremendous strain is put on the winding engines, and the braking device has to be absolutely reliable and efficient. These Linings for the most part are supplied in ¾" and 1" thickness, and in several cases recently where "SAFEGUARD" Lining has been put into service for comparative test at Collieries where hitherto other linings have been in use, the service from "SAFEGUARD" has proved more satisfactory both as regards braking efficiency and durability. | ||
