K.L.G. SPARKING PLUGS. We have tested the sparking plugs which were returned from Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s. car as being poor for slow running. They were tried in GAE.20 which had the tappet clearance opened up to .010" in. and .015" ex. to give better slow running conditions. The slow running was good 4.5 M.P.H. steady, and was the same as that obtained by the cars own plugs of the same type. The returned plugs however missed badly on pick up, which was cured when the plug gaps were reduced to .020". These were previously .030". Tried at .025" there were no misfires full load. We would urge the necessity of these plug gaps being kept below .025" with the standard coil in order to avoid trouble. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/WB.{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell} | ||
